Deshare Protocol

Decentralized Sharing Economy Protocol

Decentralized Sharing Economy Protocol

In China, where mobile payments and digital credit systems have rapidly advanced, numerous sharing economy models have emerged, such as shared power banks and self-service vending machines. If you travel to China, you can easily rent a shared bike via your mobile phone for convenient transportation, or charge your phone at any time using a shared power bank without carrying a charger. These seamless and convenient services are available on every corner, enhancing the user experience. We believe that the unmanned self-service model, represented by the sharing economy, is a global trend and will become an essential part of public infrastructure. ShareX envisions helping people worldwide enjoy ubiquitous and frictionless services.

Deshare Protocol is ShareX's first step toward realizing this vision. By launching Deshare Protocol, ShareX aims to build an open, trustworthy, and decentralized infrastructure network for the sharing economy. Within this network, brands, device providers, and merchants can seamlessly integrate and contribute, while the network incentivizes contributors with tokens through the PoPW mechanism, fostering the growth and prosperity of the ecosystem.

Through the development of Deshare Protocol, ShareX is committed to creating the world's largest Web3 sharing economy infrastructure, supporting a wide range of consumer applications and their associated users and data. This initiative will provide strong support for the global deployment of sharing economy services, making convenience accessible worldwide.

Building a Global Consumer Application Network

Deshare Protocol has established an open Consumer Layer, bridging Web3 with a wide range of consumer applications. The mass adoption of Web3—whether in payments, RWA, or PayFi—depends on strong application scenarios. The Consumer Layer plays a crucial role in Web3's long-term growth, enabling Web3 projects to integrate crypto payments, RWA, PayFi financial services, and offline marketing, thereby acquiring and converting Web2 users into Web3 participants.

Deshare Protocol Value Positioning

Deshare Protocol Value Positioning

Drawing from years of experience in the sharing economy, ShareX has abstracted key business models from real-world sharing economy scenarios. This allows Deshare Protocol to build a scalable consumer application layer that can flexibly integrate various shared economy businesses and devices.

We liken the physical world to a vast gold mine, where the combination of shared devices and offline spaces enables real revenue generation—akin to mining gold. Deshare Protocol's business model can be visualized as a four-layer mining structure:

  • Mining Areas represent different countries and regions (e.g., Japan, Russia, Singapore, Thailand). Due to geographical, regulatory, and economic differences, the profitability of shared devices varies across regions.
  • Mining Farm represents various offline spaces, such as shopping malls, restaurants, and subway stations. Each type of space has unique traffic patterns and attributes, supporting different shared economy business models.
  • Mining Shafts represent different types of shared economy businesses, such as shared power banks, shared bicycles, shared umbrellas, and self-service vending machines. A single offline space can support multiple shared economy businesses, offering users seamless and convenient services.
  • Mining Rigs represent individual shared devices, such as a single shared power bank station or a shared bicycle. As the smallest financial unit, these devices generate real-world fiat revenue, making them fundamental to the ecosystem.

This four-layer structure enables Deshare Protocol to build a scalable Consumer Layer, adaptable to various offline spaces and shared economy models. As a result, Deshare Protocol is progressively evolving into the largest consumer application network in Web3.

How Deshare Protocol Powers Web3 Integration

PoPW: Proof of Physical Work

PoPW is a mechanism that verifies physical work-based contributions to assess value and rewards. It is widely adopted across various DePIN projects. For Deshare Protocol, accurately and reliably collecting operational data from different shared economy brands and measuring their contributions to the network is crucial. ShareX utilizes PoPW to scientifically evaluate contributions based on the real-world service activities of its shared devices.

The diagram below illustrates the business logic of ShareX PoPW:

Business logic of ShareX PoPW

Business logic of ShareX PoPW

  1. Consumers interact with shared devices, generating real-world physical services. During this process, they contribute to the network by paying deposits or service fees.
  2. Shared devices, equipped with IoT communication capabilities, package the service data and generate PoPW proofs, which are submitted to the network for validation.
  3. The network processes both:
    • Financial transactions, handling deposit refunds and service fee settlements.
    • Contribution assessments, evaluating PoPW data to fairly reward participants in the service ecosystem.

In ShareX, the PoPW process consists of the following four steps:

  1. A registered shared device under Deshare Protocol provides real services to users in offline spaces, such as renting a power bank or completing a vending machine purchase.
  2. The device packages and signs physical work data (e.g., device status, order data) according to Deshare Protocol requirements and sends it to the IoT oracle.
  3. The IoT oracle verifies the device DID and the signed PoPW, then submits the validated PoPW to the blockchain smart contract.
  4. The smart contract parses the parameters to evaluate the workload and contribution of the PoPW, rewarding the service providers accordingly.

ShareX Trusted Chips

For Deshare Protocol, verifying the authenticity of business data provided by brands is a challenging issue. ShareX plans to introduce ShareX Trusted Chips, which will obtain data directly from the hardware source and ensure data reliability through PoPW verification.

ShareX Trusted Chips is a highly adaptable SDK designed for embedded devices, featuring wallet management capabilities that enable IoT devices to autonomously join the network, generate and sign PoPW, and transmit it to the IoT oracle for verification. ShareX Trusted Chips will be compatible with mainstream IoT chips and modules, including Quectel, Fibocom, MeiG, Neoway, and SIMCom. In environments requiring higher security, the SDK will utilize TEE and other security mechanisms to provide enhanced protection.

Brand Integration and Access

Deshare Protocol offers integration solutions for both existing and new market players. The following diagram illustrates how different types of brands can integrate with Deshare Protocol.

Brand Integration and Access

ShareX will initially focus on the shared power bank sector, leveraging its deep industry experience, before gradually expanding into other shared economy verticals.

  • For new shared power bank deployments, ShareX will collaborate with PowerNow to launch ShareX Power Bank Suite, providing a one-stop hardware and software solution for customers through direct operations and OEM partnerships, fully integrated with Deshare Protocol.
  • For existing shared power bank brands, ShareX will offer SDK support, allowing brands to independently connect their existing devices, users, and data to Deshare Protocol.
  • Simultaneously, ShareX will expand the protocol and data standards for other key shared economy sectors, replicating the successful shared power bank model. In the initial phase, 5-10 core shared economy categories will be prioritized for integration.

Deshare: The Foundation of ShareX

Deshare Protocol serves as the foundation of the ShareX project. Through its distributed shared economy consumer application network, ShareX seamlessly bridges Web3 with the real world, bringing mass adoption to Web3 by integrating real-world users and consumer scenarios. Additionally, Deshare Protocol provides a solid foundation for ShareX's future RWA and PayFi strategic initiatives.
